Childs Play has been proudly caring for children in our community since 1990, providing a safe, loving, homely environment for every child.
We welcome children from all sections of the community and provide Preschool and Afterschool care. Our experienced and dedicated staff strive to provide exceptional quality care for your child and offer a safe, stimulating, enriched learning environment.
We are known for going above and beyond the standards set by Social Services. The staff at Childs Play are not only warm and caring but they aim to meet the individual needs of each child in their care. Following Social services requirements, staff to child ratios are 1:8 for Preschool and 1:10 in Afterschool. At Childs Play, we regularly exceed this allowing a better standard of care.
As an example of how Child Play go above and beyond, here are some requirements set by Social services and how we exceed them.
Social services require:
1 member of management must hold a Level 5 qualification in Childcare. In Childs Play, all management staff hold their Level 5 qualification in Childcare and Management.
50% of childcare assistants must hold a Level 2 qualification in Childcare. In Childs Play, all staff hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare.
1 staff member must be a trained Designated Child Protection Officer. In Childs Play, we have 3 DCPO’S
1 staff member must have Paediatric First Aid training. In Childs Play, all staff undergo Paediatric First Aid Training
The cook holds a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate. In Childs Play, all staff holds a Food safety certicicate.
